I'm alive. I am always alive!

Hi Mom!

I'm alive. I am always alive!

Today is pretty decent. P-days in this zone are slightly boring. Lackluster (hope that's the right word). There's no real rush to get anything done so usually I don't get any free time. People like emailing here at church - I do not! It is what it is, at least for a couple more weeks.

But this week was good! I didn't freeze. It was actually a little bit warmer this week. IT snowed last night and that was nice. I love snow so much! It's usually warmer when it snows and much prettier and there is much less ice to slip on. 22 inches (at Sundance)! I want that here. Most of the storms are about two inches. Last monday we got about 8 inches and then it rained the next day so it was all gone or turned into nasty ice. eh

We went out every day this week. We always do!

What were the names of the two girls who died? That is horrible...

Go Jazz!

I did have something I was going to mention this week but I forgot it. I will remember probably tonight at 8pm and then forget it next monday. It's not that important so you're good. How is the family? Talk to you again soon.

Love, Tab!

Hey Regan...... sup?

Haha Regan is a goon. Tell her to do something that is safer and exhilarating, like snowmobiling or snowboarding or the like. (this is a response to hearing that Regan is going skydiving.....again!)

Hi Dad!

I like that thought you shared about discerning what is the Holy Ghost and what is my thought. A video I like is:

with Elder Bednar! He knows his stuff. We use that series of videos quite frequently with the people we teach.

Things are going pretty well. We hit 20 lessons this week - my first time in this area - but our other numbers were lower than usual. We only had one investigator at church which was frustrating for having worked as hard as we did. It happens! Sister Brown will be baptized this week. She had another great experience at church so that's good :) Her daughter gave birth on Saturday night so Sister Brown wanted to wait a week so that her daughter could be at her baptism. Sister Pacheco is also doing well but progressing at a really slow rate with our other investigators. Frustrating -_- but I like the investigators that we have. They want to be baptized. We do not have to force them. Recently, I have gained a lot of understanding on how to help people experience conversion. As a result, we have been teaching our investigators a lot about prayer and revelation (or other basic gospel principles) so that they can gain answers to their prayers instead of teaching them the restoration and convincing them that the church or the Book of Mormon is true. It's a better approach. The Spirit is stronger in our lessons.

Talk about potential... that is my greatest struggle. I hardly ever reach my potential in any area. I talked to President Jeppson about it, and he gave me a few tips but not much. He encouraged me to read my patriarchal blessing and have my companion hold me accountable for things. I have been doing that. But still, I am working at it.

The weather wasn't too bad this week. I could make calls on the way to appointments, haha. Things picked up a little bit.

Thanks for your help. I love you too!

Tab

Just a side note - I always love the way Tim responds to Tab. He has the best advice and encouragement for him. So, I thought I'd share it.

Tab,

I'm glad to hear things are going well. You are reaching your potential by serving faithfully as a missionary. Reaching one's potential in any area takes a lifetime of effort — often slow and steady effort. Lucifer is a crafty fellow — if he cannot destroy your vision of your own potential, he will try to discourage you in one way or another, or in your case convince you that "you hardly ever reach your potential".  Don't fall for that!  Better to say, "I haven't reached my full potential yet, but I am making progress, and I refuse to give up!" Remember, by "small things are great things brought to pass."  Do the small things.

Have a great week!

Love, Dad
